 The Deloitte Indirect tax Dinner organised at the Flower Field Hall Singapore.

The annual Deloitte Indirect Tax Conference is held in Singapore with the conference spanning over 2 days. The Conference ends on Day 2 with a dinner at the Flower Field Hall located in the Gardens By The Bay.

COMPASS facilitated the conference in 2016 at the JW Marriott South Beach and for the closing party in 2018, the dinner was held at the gorgeous Flower Field Hall in Gardens By The Bay.

From corresponding with the caterer, Rasel Catering to the venue, COMPASS played an instrumental part in making the evening proceedings go smoothly. Dedicated transport taking guests from the event venue to Gardens By The Bay and having ushers at different points in Gardens By The Bay ensuring guests do not lose their way en-route to the Flower Field Hall.

Activities including customised chopstick calligraphy showcased the diversity of culture in Singapore. A roving Caricaturist sketched out hilarious portraits of the guests while drinks were flowing freely for the evening. An iPad Magician fuses technology into his act doing his rounds entertaining guests and guests took home calligraphies of stone pebbles with their names on it.

Global management consulting firm, McKinsey and Company held a conference in the Grand Hyatt Hotel and followed by dinner for the partners of the company.

Global management consulting firm, McKinsey and Company held a conference in the Grand Hyatt Hotel and followed by dinner for the partners of the company.

Facilitating the conference, the theme design for the panel is a ‘talk-show’ setup where the moderator will sit behind a desk, ‘interviewing’ the guests or panellists. It is a fresh break from the usual formats and received positive feedback.

The conference concept was brought to fruition by COMPASS in the Grand Ballroom and guests were treated to an evening of food and drinks in the Gallery Ballroom of the Hyatt Hotel.

The team pulled off the event within 2 weeks of the brief and with custom props made for the photo booth, it is without a doubt the guests enjoyed the post conference dinner very much.

Singapore Environmental Council SEAA Awards

The annual Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards (SEAA) recognising organisations who have gone the distance in suitability.

The annual SEAA Awards organised by the Singapore Environment Council was held in the One Farrer Hotel with Guest of Honour, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources. The event recognises overall environmental stewardship by organisations and is in support of the Sustainable Singapore Movement.

The SEAA Conference and Awards recognises and rewards organisations that have exemplary environmental practices. Some of the key aspects include:

  1. Sector – Specific
  2. Performance
  3. Innovation
  4. Systems and Management
  5. Leadership and Advocacy

 

On the topic of event setup, positioning landscaping around the stage is standard fare practiced by many event companies. For the SEAA Awards, COMPASS designed a custom-made ‘planter’ to house the landscape. This helps visually, enhancing the theme as well as makes photos pop in the background.

The Emcee was carefully selected with Joshua helming the day’s conference in the One Farrer Hotel. His style of hosting and his experience with awards events makes him a clear choice for the event.

The design concept stemmed out of COMPASS suite of in-house designers and installation was done professionally with high quality plywood and canvas PVC Prints.

Pacific Life Re Summer Party

Pacific Life Re celebrates the Summer Party at the Capella Sentosa.

Set in the Capella Sentosa, Pacific Life Re celebrates their annual Summer Party. With fairy lights specially setup for the evening event, a ‘dining-under-the-stars’ was set in place at the Gallery Ballroom.

Much of the event inspiration came from the Ryan Grosling and Emma Stone movie ‘La La Land’. It was though, supposed to be at the Bob’s Bar but an afternoon of heavy rain forced the event to take place indoors.

Registration started with a game where poker cards are cut into half and distributed during as guests are registering. The objective was guests were to find their ‘other half’ as quickly as they can in order to win prizes when the emcee calls for them.

Cocktail activities were part of the event experience and stations including all-you-can-take Photo Booth photos were part of the reception. In addition, Magnum Ice Cream Bar for those with a sweet tooth.

With an acoustic band for live music entertainment, one of the highlights for the Summer Party was the Grand Lucky Draw where the winner wins a flagship Samsung phone.

Celebrating Deloitte Asia Pacific at the National Gallery’s Aura

 

Deloitte Southeast Asia comprises of Deloitte practices operating in Brunei, Cambodia, Guam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Collectively, there are 330 partners and more than 8000 professionals available in 25 office locations.

To initiate, a special event was held at the National Gallery’s Aura restaurant.

Perched on the highest floor of the National Gallery, Sky Lounge at Aura is all-glass and overlooks the Padang as well as Marina Bay Sands. A choice location for many tourists who come to Singapore, Aura boasts a venue private and still accessible in the city.

Due to the centralised pillars located within the restaurant, a customised stage was built to provide a central focal point. Topped up with black carpet donning over the stage, it adds a level of elevation for the speaker and class for the entire event.

Careful planning to avoid the pillars has been taken into consideration during key moments of photo taking.

IBF Careers Connect Launch

The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) launched it’s new premises in the MAS Building alongside the new initiative; IBF Careers Connect.

The IBF Careers Connect provides career advisory and job matching services in the financial industry. Launched by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung alongside MAS Chairman Ravi Menon, the Careers Centre aims to help more finance professionals to stay relevant in the industry.

The event was covered by mainstream media including CNA, Business Times and Straits Times 

In order to maximise the space, careful space design ensured the newly renovated office in the MAS Building is able to accommodate the guests, media as well as industry players and supporters. Selected chairs were brought into the conference room and carefully positioned to make more seating as well as standing space.

A key element of the event is the Launch Mechanism which can double up as a display piece. Our design for the custom launch mechanism was done in house and tested on numerous occasions. The upside of the custom production is its ease of moving and do not require complicated logistics.

July 2018: Arsenal Fan Party Singapore

Arsenal Fan Party 2018 at the Shangri La Hotel

Arsenal Football Club visited Singapore for the International Champions Cup and fans of the football club got to meet their idols up close and personal including World Cup members, Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elneny and Alx Iwobi.

The Fan Party also featured members of the football participating in various challenges. The challenges are not just limited to the hotel but an island wide fan party was organised on a bigger scale in locations such as Clarke Quay.

The event was covered by local press with fans queuing up awaiting for the Gunners’ bus to pull up at the Shangri La Hotel. Watch the Straits Times coverage and their video link here > 

On the same evening, a welcome cocktail reception for invited guests was held at Origin Bar in the Shangri La Hotel. The guest list includes local celebrities and media influencers.

The Asia Pacific 2018 Regional Management Meeting is a closed door session organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the leaders and top management The conference was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan where he delivered a keynote address as well as sat down with panelists for a lively discussion.

Many topics were discussed at length and sustainability was a key subject of the conference.

Spanning over 3 days at the Singapore Hilton, the conference consisted of keynote addresses as well as Livestreaming from Singapore to New York. Our team combined the Hilton local area network (LAN) as well as using a network bonding device to ensure smooth delivery of the content.

Xylem Customer Appreciation Dinner in conjunction with Singapore Water Week

Xylem Water Solutions provides products and services which move, treat, analyze, monitor and return water to the environment in public utility, industrial, residential and commercial building service settings.

In conjunction with Singapore Water Week in the Marina Bay Sands, Xylem held the Customer Appreciation Dinner at the JW Marriott South Beach where the 300 guests were treated to an evening of culinary experiences, entertainment and a surprise announcement.

First in Singapore, Premier League Champions, Manchester City players were invited to the event to announce a global multi-year partnership with Xylem to become the Club’s Official Water Technology Partner. Read about the announcement here > 

This will bring Xylem’s branding at the club’s Ethiad’s Stadium on matchdays and also at the City Football Academy.

Maje Press Event for Fall/Winter 2018 

French luxury brand Maje held the Press Event for the latest Fall/Winter 2018 line at the Marina Bay Sands, The Shoppes. Attended by luminaries from the fashion industry, a customised experience was set in place with COMPASS working closely with the Asia HQ of Maje based in Hong Kong.

The concept was to bring Paris Fashion Week to the shop in Marina Bay Sands and recreating that experience. An intricate part of the entire experience was the customised vending machine. COMPASS customised the vending machine and went a step further. Each bottled water within the vending machine had the Maje branding on top of the existing ‘Dream Tomorrow’ stickers that is custom-printed.

The ‘Dream Tomorrow’ Photo Wall was carefully sand-down and painted finish before installing the stickers.

Catering was part of COMPASS’s portfolio where 2 butlers presented canapes throughout the afternoon event.
